Joe Barker

Starting May 2022. I am going to be studying crystallisation processes using a range of in-situ techniques.

I am currently finishing my PhD at the University of Birmingham in the group of Professor Paul Anderson. I also completed my undergraduate MSci Chemistry with Industrial Experience at Birmingham.  My research during my PhD has been on the synthesis, structure solution and properties of carboxyphosphonate metal-organic frameworks. This has included adjusting a wide array of crystallisation conditions in order to grow single crystals for diffraction experiments.

Outside of science my interests include gardening and watching non-league football. Sadly the dog in the picture is not my dog.
